Through security employees of the station, PKP S.A. provides help within the scope of moving around the station (the list of railway stations where such help is offered may be found below), including platforms and underground passages. Security employees and train staff also help people having difficulties with entering and leaving a train.

Accessibility the Station
Entrance from Dworcowy Bridge – no obstacles. In the case of accessing the New Station from level 0 from the station square, it is recommended to use the lift next to platform 1 (approx. 20 m from the car park/ bus stops); the lift connects with the station hall. In the hall, there are two lifts connecting with platforms 2 and 3.
The station building of the Poznań Główny railway station started its operation in 1879. Built of a characteristic red brick, it quickly became the mark of the city. It appeared in Poznań postcards and became a must on the tourist map of the city. Destroyed during the war, it was rebuilt in classical style. In the course of the next alteration in the end of 1960s and in the beginning of 1970s, it acquired modernist features. On 29 May 2012, President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski ceremonially opened the new station building. The building was constructed in the extremely short time – from the beginning of construction works to the opening of the building to passengers, there were only 10 months. Nowadays, it is a 3-level building. Apart from the Central Railway Station in Warsaw, it is the only railway station built over the platforms. The Poznań Główny railway station is an integral part of a multifunction integrated communication centre – an investment built on the grounds owned by the railway companies. Besides the station, the investment includes: a bus station with 19 platforms, multi-storey car park for 1,500 cars, new communication and road scheme connected with the network of local roads and a modern shopping mall. The functions of the integrated transport in the region of the station is supplemented by a municipal investment – a stop of Poznań tram rapid transit. The integrated communication centre is a project implemented as part of the public private partnership. On the basis of an agreement, a private investor constructs a station and a shopping mall together with the road infrastructure and a car park on a plot owned by PKP S.A. In 2012, the Poznań Główny Railway Station was used by over 14 million passengers.
